St.Jude Thaddeus was one of the chosen 12 apostles. It seems not much is actually recorded about the life of St. Jude until after his death. According to well-kept records of lineage, St. Jude's mother, Mary of Cleophas was a cousin of the Blessed Vergin Mary.

History, legend and tradition tell us that St. Jude worked with the Gentiles. He made missionary journeys, preaching and dispensing the Sacraments. St. Jude became known as a powerful intercessor, teaching believers to "Love God with all your heart". Because he admonished sinners, St. Jude was not always popular and his lifr was often in danger. later, he was martyred.

Here at this shrine, the dhapel dedicated to St.Jude was done as a promise. Brian Kelly and his dad, Jerry E. Kelly, had the chapel built in 1975 in memory of their mother and wife, Carol A. Kelly. It is written, "We gave our word to our Mom that we would build this chapel." Carol died in 1975, and the chapel was completed.

A Prayer to St. Jude

A prayer to ask for the intercession of St. Jude in times of serious problems, when feeling hopeless and alone, and for desperate cases.

Most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of. Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone. Come to my assistance in this great need and pray that I may receive consolation and help of Jesus Christ in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, particularly (here state your request) and thatb I may praise God with you and all the elect forever.
AMEN
