St.Jude Thaddeus was one of the chosen 12 apostles.
It seems not much is actually recorded about the life of St. Jude until after his death. According to
well-kept records of lineage, St. Jude's mother, Mary of Cleophas was a cousin of the Blessed
Vergin Mary.
History, legend and tradition tell us that St. Jude worked with the Gentiles. He made missionary
journeys, preaching and dispensing the Sacraments. St. Jude became known as a powerful
intercessor, teaching believers to "Love God with all your heart". Because he admonished sinners,
St. Jude was not always popular and his lifr was often in danger. later, he was martyred.
Here at this shrine, the dhapel dedicated to St.Jude was done as a promise. Brian Kelly and his
dad, Jerry E. Kelly, had the chapel built in 1975 in memory of their mother and wife, Carol A. Kelly.
It is written, "We gave our word to our Mom that we would build this chapel." Carol died in 1975,
and the chapel was completed.
